The distributor, (wholesale
drop-shipper), is the fulfillment company which
takes the orders from you, the retailer
(reseller), and ships the products directly to
your customers with your business name on the
box.
However, the entire process of product
distribution begins with the manufacturer first.
The manufacturer, such as Microsoft for example,
designs, builds and packages the products in
mass quantities in their manufacturing
facilities.
Then Microsoft will sell and ship those
products in mass quantities to partner
distributors nationwide and worldwide as
well. |
|
|
|
|
They will also sell to offline and online
retailers who are able to meet their minimum
inventory requirements.
The distributor who purchased the product in
mass quantities will then sell the product(s) to
you, the retailer (reseller) who can purchase in
smaller quantities or in single quantities as
well.
And then you, the retailer, will sell those
products from your website to the end user, your
customers.
Your customers can not purchase products
directly from the distributors and in most cases
can not purchase from the manufacturers as well.
They must go through you, the retailer, and
order the products from your website.
And then you can contact and order the product
from the distributors’ website or by phone as
well. (First you sell the product from your
website, and then you place the order with the
distributor.)
Then the distributor will ship the product
directly to your customer with your business
name on the box. The concept is simple and works
quite well.
Furthermore, some distributors have multiple
warehouse locations making it that much easier
for you to get your products shipped to your
customers on time, every time.
