Starting and running your own online store business is easy to do. Furthermore, anyone can do it as well. No experience is necessary and no special skills are required.

All you have to do is start from the beginning and follow the instructions in the course in a step-by-step manner.

Choose your niche market:
Figure out and decide on which products or product categories you’re going to specialize in and then start and build your business based upon that product market. Make sure that the products you choose to sell are not only top selling products but products that you can enjoy selling as well.

Create a keyword-rich business name: Implement your most important keywords into your business name. Not only will this send a straight forward marketing message to your customers but it will also allow you to have a search engine optimized domain name as well.

Secure your domain name: When creating your business name it’s also important to make sure that your business name is also available as a domain name as well. Matching your domain name with your business name is standard practice online. And more importantly, search engines feed on and favor keyword-rich domain names.

Register your business: In order to start and establish your business, you have to register your business first. And you can do so by registering your business name. This will automatically establish you as a sole proprietorship which is the easiest and fastest way to establish your business.

Obtain your sales tax license: You’ll need to have a sales tax license (sales tax i.d.) to purchase products from distributors. And to obtain your sales tax license all you have to do is contact or visit your local IRS office, obtain and fill out the necessary forms and receive your sales tax license by mail. (The following states do not require a sales tax license as these states do not have a sales tax: Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon)

Establish your website: Start your website and create a main page with a company logo followed by the slogan “coming soon”. And once you’re signed up with distributors then you can start adding products to your online store.

Get signed up with distributors: Start visiting and contacting distributor websites and decide on which distributors you’re going to work with. Then get signed up with 1, 2 or 3 distributors in order to gain access to product inventory.

Add products to your website: After signing up with distributors you can begin to start adding their products to your website. Be sure to build effective and informative product pages with complete details, features and product images.

Market and advertise your website: Once your website is up and running and virtually stocked with products, then you can begin to market and advertise your website using effective internet marketing techniques.

Maintain your website: Maintaining your website is a simple matter of adding new products as they arrive on the market and adding content rich articles to your website as well. The more pages you have then the more traffic you’ll receive.

Keep track and documentation of all business related purchases and business expenses for record purposes when it comes time to file for income tax.

The rest is just a matter of effective business management and day to day business operations while conducting all business activities in an honest, ethical and professional manner. And in doing so, you will succeed.

When orders come in, take and place those orders as soon as possible and make sure that all orders are shipped out on time and to the correct shipping address as well. Leave no room for errors.

As your website traffic increases, your sales volume will begin to increase as well. More traffic means more sales. But in order to build that traffic, you’ll have to focus on marketing and advertising your website online. But the more you do so, then the more your business will grow, and in time, success will follow.
