There’s an easy way to find more drop-shippers, distributors and wholesalers if you know exactly what product(s) you want to sell. And the best place to start searching for more suppliers is at the source itself, which is of course, the manufacturer.

If you know which products you want to sell then all you have to do is find and contact the manufacturer for those products and ask them for a list of their distributors. Many manufacturers will sell direct to retail stores and online stores. However, many times, most major manufacturers will have dealer requirements such as minimum purchases and inventory requirements when selling direct to dealers, resellers and retail stores, online or off.

And this is where distributors come in handy for small and new businesses just starting off and looking to carry no inventory at all as most distributors are more than willing to sell and drop-ship one item at a time instead of requiring minimum purchases as is the case with most major manufacturers.

You can obtain contact information for the manufacturer by simply doing a search on Google for the manufacturer of the product(s) you want to sell.

Then you can visit their “Where to Buy” or “How to Buy” page on their website and look for a list of distributors. Many manufacturers will have a list of distributors they use to distribute their products right there on their website along with a list of dealers and retail outlets as well.

For example, if you wanted to buy and sell external storage solutions from G-Technology which is a major manufacturer for storage products, then you would simply perform a search on Google.com for the key words “G-Technology”.

www.g-technology.com would be the first website on the Google search results.

From there, you would click on the link and enter the G-Technology website.

Then you would click on “Purchase” from the top navigation menu.

Then you would scroll down on the “Purchase” page and click on the “Distributors” text link.

On the following page, you would find a list of distributors linking to their respective websites.

From there, you would simply go to the distributors’ website, contact them, fill out a reseller application and proceed to get signed up with them as a reseller for their products. It’s that simple. And you can use the same procedure for many other manufacturers as well.

But if you cant seem to find a list of distributors on the manufacturers’ website then go to their contact page and contact them from there.

Make sure you already have your business name registered and your sales tax license in hand. And your business name should be related to your niche market as well.

Then contact the manufacturer. Tell them that you’ve just started a small business and an online store and would like to sell some of there products. Then ask them for a list of their distributors. If they sell their products though distributors then they will be more than happy to assist you by giving you the name of those distributors.

If they sell direct only which may be the case with less popular products, then ask them about their minimum requirements and shipping procedures. Some manufacturers will sell direct to you, the reseller and drop-ship the products to your customers as well.

However, if the manufacturer does work with resellers then get the names and contact information of the distributors by phone or by email request as well. And then proceed to contact the distributors and get singed up with them when you’re ready to do so.

And you can also check with major retail online stores to see if they have a dealer program available. Many large online retailers have dealer programs available where they can sell and drop-ship products at a discounted price for resellers who can present a sales tax license and proof of business registration. And many times, this option can come in handy during the holiday seasons when products are selling rather quickly. In other words, you can use large online retailers which sell to dealers as back-up distributors as well.

But if you’re just looking for more distributors then the best place to start is at the source for the product - the manufacturer. Then call their sales department and ask them for a list of their distributors. We’re all in the sales business and they’ll be more than glad to help you out in any way that they can by providing you with the information you need.
